(Quick Hitters) Owns the UW career (331) and single season (126, 2019) steals records … 2019 and 2018 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, first in UW history … Started every game since he arrived on campus with his streak at 135 career games … Member of the Pac-12 All-Star team that went to Australia in the summer of 2016 … Is named after French Impressionist painter Henri Matisse … Chose the number 4 because its been his number since 4th grade, his birthday is March 4th and also his mom’s favorite number was 4 …Was scoring only 2.9 points per game at Skyline before becoming a stand out when he transferred to Eastside Catholic as a junior … Very good swimmer, had to choose between swimming & basketball at a young age… Lived in Australia for four years when he was younger, his sister was born there and they moved back when he was in third grade - has dual citizenship
 
2018-19 (Senior): Started in all 36 games averaging 31.1 minutes, 2.3 blocks and 3.5 steals en route to earning All-Pac-12 First Team honors and being named the 2019 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season ... also picked up Pac-12 All-Defensive Team honors … Named the 2019 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year … Set the Pac-12 single-season steals record with 126 on the year … Set the Pac-12 career steals record with his one steal against Oregon at the Pac-12 Championship as he finished with 331, passing Gary Payton (321, 1986-90) … Led the team with 17 points in just 25 minutes to go along with six steals and five blocks against Colorado … Tallied 15 points on 5-of-8 shooting while adding five blocks and five steals at AZ … Matched his career-high with seven steals against USC and scored 17 points while adding six rebounds and two blocks …. 2017-18 (Junior): Career starting streak is now at 99 … named the 2018 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year becoming the first UW player to earn that award ... set the UW single-season record with 101 steals, which also ranks second on the Pac-12 Conference single-season list … also finished with a team-high 49 blocks … his 205 career steals are also the UW record … while his 103 career blocks rank sixth in UW program history … reached double figures 20 times on the year and led UW in scoring five times … averaged a career-best 11.2 points in 32.3 minutes in 34 games this season and knocked down at least two from 3-point range in eight of the last 10 games of the season … in the opening round of the NIT against Boise State, scored 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting and added five rebounds, four assists and four steals … led the team with 16 points against Oregon State in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament on 6-of-13 shooting from the field …. scored a career-high 26 points against Colorado on 8-of-11 shooting from the field, 4-of-5 from 3-point range and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line ... also added four steals, two assists and two blocks … recorded 18 double-digit scoring efforts so far this season … posted back-to-back 18-point scoring efforts for the first time in his career at Colorado and against WSU … has registered at least two steals in all all but two games including a career-high seven against BCU ... also set a career high in assists with seven vs. Virginia Tech

2016-17 (Sophomore): Started in all 31 games this season and recorded 16 double-digit scoring efforts while hitting at least one three in all but three outings ... has started in 65 straight games and averaged 10.5 points during the season while adding 3.1 rebounds and shot 44.8 percent from the field, 40.5 from 3-point range and 84.1 percent from the free throw line .... set the UW sophomore steals record with 65, which ranks third on UW's overall single-season list... recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and a career-best 11 rebounds against Arizona ... notched 15 points against Cal Poly on 5-of-7 shooting ... went 4-of-5 from the field, including 2-of-3 from 3, en route to 12 points against Nevada ... set a career-high in the season opener with 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field against Yale and also knocked down a career-best six blocks ... followed that up with back-to-back 15-point showings against Cal State Fullerton and Northern Arizona

2015-16 (Freshman): Started all 34 games… averaged 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds per game… had his career-best and first double digit scoring effort with 16 points against Cal State Fullerton… also had 16 points against Oakland… shot 5-for-11 from the field and 3-for-6 from beyond the arc… had a career-best eight rebounds against UCLA… had six steals against No. 23 Arizona, tied for the third most ever by a UW player in a single game.

Eastside Catholic High School (Sammamish, Wash.) – Was ranked the No. 76 player overall, is 15th nationally at his position and is the top SF in the state of Washington… averaged 18.2 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as a senior at Eastside Catholic while leading the team to the Class 3A State Semifinals ... as a junior, averaged 11.8 points per game and helped lead the team to the state semifinals in 2014 …attended Skyline High previous to transferring to Eastside Catholic….averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15 games as a Sophomore at Skyline.
