Stanford's Epstein named Pac-12 men's soccer player of the week

Sep 8, 2015

SAN FRANCISCO - STANFORD’s Andrew Epstein was voted the Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the second week of the season, the Conference announced today.

Epstein, a junior goalkeeper from Fort Collins, Colo., helped the Cardinal go 3-0 against then-No. 18 Louisville, Northeastern and VCU. Epstein played in all but 4:56 minutes between the posts, shutting out three consecutive opponents for the first time since 2007. Seven of his 23 career starts have been solo shutouts, combining in two others.

This is Epstein’s first-career weekly honor and Stanford’s 22nd all-time player of the week nod.

The No. 13 Cardinal host San José State on Thurs, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network and Pac-12 Bay Area, then travels to Dallas to take on SMU on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. PT.

A total of 37 matches will be featured live on the Pac-12 Networks.
