SAN FRANCISCO – For the sixth-straight season, the Pac-12 Conference’s men’s soccer coaches voted UCLA as the favorite to win the 2015 regular season, the Conference office announced today.

The Bruins amassed 24 points to top the preseason league poll. UCLA is looking for its ninth overall Conference title under the direction of head coach Jorge Salcedo. The Bruins finished the 2014 season 14-4-6, advancing to the NCAA Championship game where they fell 0-0 (4-2 PKs) to Virginia. UCLA returns a lineup that includes all-Conference honoree Seyi Adekoya, first team All-Pac-12 and MAC Hermann Award Watch List nominee Michael Amick.

Close behind was STANFORD who totaled 21 points. The Cardinal brings back two upperclassmen in Jordan Morris and reigning Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year Brandon Vincent, each on the 2015 MAC Hermann Award Watch List and the preseason all-Conference team.

WASHINGTON landed third on the preseason list, collecting 18 points. Two Huskies came in on the preseason all-Conference list including James Moberg and Mason Robertson, each 2014 second team all-Conference selections.

CALIFORNIA came in fourth with 13 points while OREGON STATE finished with nine points, just ahead of SAN DIEGO STATE who tallied five points to place sixth.

In addition to the annual coaches poll, the Pac-12 announced the inaugural Preseason All-Pac-12 team, as voted on by the league coaches. The 11-player preseason list includes 10 field players and a goalkeeper, and features seven 2014 all-Conference honorees.

All six Pac-12 men’s soccer teams kick off the 2015 season on Aug. 28-31. Pac-12 men’s soccer will receive extensive coverage, as the Pac-12 Networks will broadcast 36 men’s soccer matches this season. For more information and to view the 2015 schedule, visit www.pac-12.com.
